Poem - CLASS REUNION-CCHS BATCH '88

by: Gina Tabuzo Galivo

Our reunion is set,
summertime of '08,
an invitation has
arrived at the gate.
"You're expected to come,
it'll be really grand,
we will wine anddine
with the band."

I ran to the mirror
and checked out my flaws,
double chin, grayhairs,
wrinkles in my brows.
My spouse looks on and
with a smile I'm told:
"You're still the same,
for me you never grew old."

Dear classmates,
I know you'll definitely agree,
to have some
insecurities like me.
Did I become the
person you expect me to be?
Will you be
impressed or disappointed in me?

In spite of all these,
I pray you'll decide,
to come to our reunion
for each of us to find.
We're still the same
person in spirit and mind,
we're still the same friends
who'll be considerate and kind.

On our 20th Reunion
on May 1 and 2,
My dearest classmates,
I sincerely hope to see you.
Make plans to attend,
bring your loved ones too,
Because I miss you all.
I really, really do.
